Mark was one of my best friends in college and for some years thereafter. He always amazed me because he could do anything and do it well. Smartest and most creative guy I ever met! Wish I'd had the chance to take his pilates class - wish I'd known him longer.  The world is less of a place with his passing.

For Mark's Loved Ones, I know Mark is in Heaven making it an even better place with his charismatic personality and charm.  He provided some great memories and a whole lot of fun for all of us that knew him at the FIGI house at MSU.  Much love and peace to your family and friends.  God bless all of you.  Best regards.

Mark was one in a million and I am blessed to have known him.  May he rest in peace and may his family find comfort in knowing what a wonderful man he was.  Gone from this world much too soon, but what a wonderful legacy he leaves behind!

My thoughts and prayers go out to Mark's family. I attended High School with Mark. During an English class we had to provide a quote to the teacher. Mark didn't have one ready so he created his own that I still use to this day. "A headache is all in the mind". The entire class broke out laughing including the teacher Mr Spagnuolo. Rest in Peace Mark.

My deepest sympathies to Mark's family.  Mark was one of my brother, Steve's best friends.  He was always around our house.  I remember him as a sweet person and I know he will be missed.

When Mark was first introduced to our lives by my sister, we all knew immediately he would be a part of our family. He meshed so well with all of us, and we love him dearly. He's our family, and we will always think of him as such. He was amazing to my children, Paige and Brady. He and Ann were the "ultimate aunt and uncle"! They spent time with my kids in BIG ways, and in little ways. Cedar Point, the beach, Old Town Jazz Fest, and kayaking just to name a few! The little ways Mark was an influence are countless. His encouraging words, genuine smile, and Ample compliments of my children will stay with myself and Brian forever. He truly was an inspiration to us all, and will continue to be just that. This has been the hardest week of my life, and my kids lives. Getting through has been a little easier because of the stamp Mark left in our hearts. What I will close with is this, Thank you Mark Hoover for all you were, and all you continue to teach us! Thank you for being a true soul mate to my sister and bringing her joy beyond measure! Thank you Jackie and Hank for the son you brought into this world, and raised to be a better man than most. Thank you Hoover Family for opening your arms and hearts to my sister, and to us. May we all find peace in our hearts as we begin to heal.

One of my favorite memories with Mark was racing up three flights of stairs just to see who would win; we were hysterical, laughing like children. That's how it was with Mark . . . he was fun loving and had such a joy for life. You were and still are an inspiration to many. You are gone too soon.

Mark was my best friend throughout Junior and Senior High School. We lost touch over the years after I moved to the east coast, but he was a positive force in the universe and a very special and talented individual. I'm deeply saddened by his loss, and will never forget him and all the great experiences we shared.

Those of us who knew, grew and studied with Mark while students at MSU benefitted from his sharp wit, great humor and generous loyalty.  He was a great friend and made everyone he knew happier in his company.  Perge brother.

When I was nearly 65 a friend took me to Mark's Pilates class.  After I left, Mark told my friend, "I'm not sure he'll be back."  For nearly 9 years, every Monday and Wednesday, I came back.  Like a moth to the flame, I couldn't stay away.  Thank you Mark for helping me hang on to my "youth".

We were fortunate to have Mark Hoover not only as a fitness instructor, a partner in planning and an avid supporter of our employee wellness program, but also a friend for many years.  His passion and dedication to improving the health and wellbeing of others was fundamental to the success of our wellness program.  He made a positive difference by motivating, encouraging, guiding, and supporting class participants and those he worked with.  He uplifted those around him by recognizing strengths and went out of his way to applaud these traits. Mark, with his expertise and skill, worked to strengthen our bodies and empower our minds, and with his presence touched our hearts and souls.  He will be deeply missed by many.

Mark's constant smile and high energy will be greatly missed.

Within the first hour of meeting Mark,  I told Ann," I really like him...he is an awesome person"...Ann replied, "Christin but you don't even know him, you just met him." I think that sums up Mark to me. I loved talking to Mark, he was so intelligent and offered such great advice. It was inspiring to be around him and Ann- the love they had for each other was admirable- they were the best of friends. Mark, thank you my friend for the amazing pre-fourth of July street fireworks show, being the best bartender, a great grill-man, a friend to me and my girlfriend, and for giving my friend Ann such pure love. I have some great memories, even if the time was short.  You are missed!!

Mark was and will always be an inspiration to everyone he has met.  His caring, kindness, laughter, smile, and positive attitude made him a joy to be around.  He made the world a better place by helping each person he met.  He will be greatly missed.

Mark was an inspiration to all of us looking to become healthier.  He was a wonderful instructor, personal trainer, and friend to all he came across.  I'll miss his smile and the warm greeting he always gave.  My thoughts and prayers go to his family.

Mark was, and continues to be, an inspiration.  His enthusiastic embrace of all that life has to offer.  His amazing depth of knowledge that never ceased to amaze.  His support and love in believing that no matter what a person's physical condition or age, a healthy and well lived life is a possibility.  I'm struggling to accept that he is gone.  I can't yet envision a life without him.

A kind and gentle soul who truly cared about the people around him. Not only did he take me and my wife Iris as projectsand improve the quality of our physical lives he became a wonderful friend and touched our souls. The world was a better place with him in it and the world will be a bit sadder without Mark.

My core, gluts, legs and arms would hurt because of Mark, but now it is my heart that aches.  Mark touched my life.  I am blessed to have called him friend.  Fond memories of Mark will live in my heart forever (including waiting tables at Emil's together long ago).  God Bless the Hoover family and Ann.  Thank you for sharing Mark.

Very sad to hear of Marks passing away.  Knew him since early 1960's.  A childhood friend, including 5 years of Boy Scouts.  We went on about 100 camping , canoeing , and hiking trips in that time.  He had a great sense of humor, and we were always pulling pranks on each other.  He was a very intelligent person.  Rest in peace Mark.  I hope to see you on a hiking trail in the sky one  day.

Mark was a bright light. As a youth he hung around my parent's house working on vintage cars with my brother. As an adult, his presense aided the development of renovating Old Town Lansing. So sad: he will be missed.

I am very sorry to hear of the loss of my high school classmate. I remember him fondly from not only school but he came to my parents bakery, Paul's Pastry Shop, often. I hold you, his family and friends, up in love and light.

I met Mark a few years ago when taking classes through the gym, got to know about his life and hobbies over time.  Great man, great sense of humor, great work ethic, I take solace in the time I spent with him...I will miss you, Mark.

As many remembered, Mark was a warm, caring, and funny man.  I met him in the gym a few years ago when I was trying to decide which fitness club to join. He introduced himself and welcomed me, and of course, with his smile on the face.  I started trying his classes, loved them all, and can stop going since then!  He definitely made a difference in my and many people's life! You're be missed very much, Mark!

Mark was "brother", close friend, colleague and inspiration to me and so many of us "Fiji Men" of his college fraternity. The camaraderie,pranks committed and more serious moments we spent with "Hoov" will soldier on as some of our most cherished life memories - both during and after our college years. Mark's brilliance and originality was exceeded only by his warm-heartedness and inability to say "no" to anyone who ever asked for his help, no matter how big the ask. I surely speak for all the Fiji brothers when I say "farewell" and await seeing you again in a better place.  Perge!

I guess we'll have to see that Red Wings game together when I see you again. I have learned so much from you and my kids loved you dearly. You were a great man and an example to us all.

Mark was a wonderful influence on the Old Town neighborhood. Although he was only my neighbor for a little more than a year, every time I was working outside, he always had kind words of encouragement. He also helped with some of our neighborhood's initial clean-up, for which I will always be grateful. Although I didn't get to know him terribly well, based on all that I've heard, I missed out on the opportunity to get to know an incredible person. My most sincere condolences go out to his friends and family.

Mark was a wonderful, kind, warm, loving man! He was poised and graceful with his ability to talk to all. He was a great friend, mentor, instructor, and human. The loss of a person this wonderful pains me deeply. You'll be forever missed.

Mark was an amazing spin instructor that always made me want to work harder.  He seemed to know the names of everyone in his class.  He was also a writer and all-around great guy that always remembered me when I bumped into him around town.  He will be missed by many.

With his wit, genuine warmth and great mind, Mark was always more than an instructor or friend. His spirit will endure and continue to inspire .

Down the road, after the raw pain of losing Mark subsides, I will have a big smile whenever I think of him. Thank you Mark for sharing all your goodness and warmth; and for making the daily routine fun and challenging. To the family, Ann and all who loved Mark as I did, a most heartfelt outreach.

I heard about the amazing Mark long before I met him in person. And even though I only met him once, it was clear to me that he was incredibly special and has touched so many lives. The news is devastating as he was a daily inspiration to so many. Rest in peace, Mark. You will truly be missed.

Words cannot express the sense of loss and sadness I feel. Mark changed my life. When I began Pilates at Court One, I was so out of shape that I was embarrassed but Mark came up to me that day to encourage me and make me feel welcomed. I never looked back. Then I included Spinning in my routine so for two hours every Sunday, I was with this wonderful, kind, creative, sweet man who pushed everyone to do their best. He also laughed at all my jokes that most instructors would have found disruptive but he didn't. When I was going to my 45th high school reunion, Mark generously recorded two CDs of the top 40 hits of that era for me. I will cry when I listen to them remembering my darling Mark. This earth is less bright without Mark whose aura glistened with his smile and blue eyes. I love you, Mark, forever.

Mark Hoover, words can not express the sadness I feel at this time. Mark was such an inspiration not only to me, but to ALL, who met him. He made sure, that he spoke with all who took his classes. He once told me, that he was a writer, but fitness was his passion.  He passed that passion on to many other instructors, including myself. Even though I have not seen Mark in many years, I feel THIS loss in a big way. 
My prayers go out to the family, and many friends, who I know are hurting.

The shock and sadness of learning of the death of our beloved Mark is only eclipsed by a feeling of profound gratitude and awe at having been graced by his abundant positivity and generosity of spirit. His was a special and bountiful zest for life, informed by warmth and kindness. I will never forget him, or his example. My deepest condolences to Ann and to his family.

Mark was a dear friend, who always had a kind word and helpful advise. I looked forward to yoga class every Tuesday and Thursday.  The ladies at Fairview will miss him as well. They too had come to cherish the time spent with him on Thursday afternoons. He brightened their day.
