A Memorial to Mark Hoover written by his father:
One of Mark's favorite authors was Ralph Waldo Emerson. I want to share a passage from him.
"To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Mark modeled this mantra for life.
The outpouring of love across the country from people he touched is truly remarkable. Their comments reflect the heartfelt appreciation of Mark's talent to improve the betterment of their lives.
Mark eschewed personal kudos, but all of them were earned by his dedication. His mother and I, plus our entire family are proud of his life.
