Age 93, Devoted to her family, Mary Ann Harrington died September 23, 2019 from natural causes. Born September 28, 1925 in Detroit Michigan. Mary Ann was a proud graduate of Marygrove College, Detroit. She married Dr. Louis E. Harrington, M.D. in 1949. They were blessed with a family of eleven children. Moira (Louis) Vilardo, deceased, Kevin (Cathy) Harrington, deceased, Kathleen (Rick) Belka, Mary Lou (Glen) Easterbrook, Brian (Cheryl) Harrington, Sheila Harrington, Deirdre (Paul) Costabile, Sean Harrington, Dennis (Lore) Harrington, Mark (Anne) Harrington, deceased, Conn (Cathy) Harrington; 18 grandchildren, Marisa (Steve) Andrea (Mark)Lia, Ryan (Melissa), Leslie (Trey), Lauren, Cara (Kyle), Ross, Sean, Afton (Joe), Dustin (Janelle) Brianna, Louis, Keegan, Alina, Casey, Tuscan and Eve. She was a loving great grandmother of 15 children. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Louis.
Mary Ann lived by: May we always forgive each other’s failings and rejoice in one another’s successes.
Mary Ann was a member of St. Gerard Parish. Along with being a doctor’s wife and mother she was also a hospice volunteer of 10 years. She was a member of many Lansing volunteer organizations. Mary Ann was passionate about traveling the world with family and friends for many years. She was an advocate of higher education for herself, family, and friends.
Visitation is from 5-8 P.M. Thursday with a 7:00 P.M. Thursday Rosary in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw. Funeral Liturgy is 10:30 A.M. Friday, September 27, at St. Gerard Catholic Church 4437 W. Willow, Lansing, with Fr.. John P. Klein presiding. Viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Friday at church. Rite of committal St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to St. Vincent Catholic Charity or Public Broadcasting Station in memory of Mary Ann Harrington.
