She graduated from Eastern High School in 1944. She married Richard C. Smith and they were married for 26 years. Together they had five daughters.
Mary Jane is survived by her daughters, Sheila Ann (Jay) Ludenburg, Claudia Jane Smith, Leslie Carol Baxter, Marsha Lee (Michael) Mills; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren. She was preceded
in death by her parents, husband and daughter, Susan Gale Chaffee.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Tiffany Funeral Home, Lansing with visitation from 11-1 pm prior to the service.
