Mary was born to the late George and Elizabeth Kuhn on May 11, 1937 in Lansing, Michigan. She graduated from Resurrection High School in Lansing in 1955.
Mary soon met the love of her life Robert York and was married in June 1958. Mary devoted her time raising three children: Mary Catherine Trent (Herb), James York (Wendy), and Lori Salazar. Mary was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1992, her daughter Mary Catherine in 2006, her brother George Kuhn in 2017, and her sister Julie Crawford in 2020.
Mary was a dynamo of love, wit, opinion, humor, and pure vitality to all that knew her. She was a devout Catholic who was an active member of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish in Lansing for decades. She was also committed to her numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mary’s devotion to her faith was evident by how she loved everyone without judgment.
The visitation will be held Friday night, April 16, 6-8 P.M. at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw Street, Lansing, MI 48917, with a Rosary to be prayed at 7pm.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 17, 11 A.M. at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, 102 W. Randolph, Lansing, MI 48906, with visitation one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent Catholic Charities or St. Therese of Lisieux Parish.
