Melinda James

Melinda had a huge heart, and a laugh that was contagious to everyone who heard it. Her smile could light up a room, and the spark in her eyes never went out.

She found her calling as a mother and loved every moment she spent with her four children. She volunteered many hours at Bennett Woods Elementary School, and spent time gardening to make their world a more beautiful place.

She was preceded in death by her stepdad, Philip Pitchford, her grandpa, Joe Trevino Sr., her uncles, Tino and Gilbert Martinez, and her father-in-law, Bob Gavin.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 10 years, Ken James; her beloved children, Sierra, Malachi, Jasmine, and Victor; her parents, Linda R. Trevino and Rick Martinez; her in-laws, Diane James-Gavin and Tom James; her grandmother, Linda S. Trevino; her sister, Victoria (Justin) Dahl; her brothers, Mason and Justin Martinez, and Bryan Frazzini; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom (Leticia) Clark, Heather (Chad) Carrigan, Susan (Billy) Williams, and Heather (Adam) Reznik; her nieces and nephews, Philip, Jack, Haleigh, Andrew, Michael, Kylee, Josh, Zach, Ian, Wyatt, Henry, Caroline; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 11:00am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, and on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the funeral home from 3pm until 5pm.
