

of Lansing, MichiganOur loving mom, grandma, great-grandma, and mom to all who visited her home passed away Good Friday, April 6, 2007 and was welcomed home by the love of her life, her husband. Born November 1, 1925 in Rogers City, Michigan. Rosie loved being active with the Waverly 39er?s which was a big part of her life, and she was honored with their ?Women of the Year? Award. She was a member of the V.F.W. 6132 Ladies Auxiliary, and had been a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church since 1960. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Clarence L. ?Sarge? Cherrette. Surviving are her children, Jacki (Larry) Huston Higdon, Andy (L.J. Farnum) Cherrette, Janet (Brian Gurnee) Cherrette, Jean (Tim Lynam) Cherrette, Jennifer (Wally DeMoss) Cherrette, Jill (Russ) Tissue, Bill (Debbie) Cherrette, and Patrick (Kelli) Cherrette; her honorary daughter, Lura Waisanen; 18 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; her beloved dog, Sara Lee; and her dear friend and neighbor, Herbie. Visitation will be from 2-4, 6-8 P.M. Monday with a 7:00 P.M. Monday Vigil Service in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing.
Funeral Liturgy is 12:00 Noon Tuesday, April 10, at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing, with Fr. John P. Klein presiding. Viewing will be from 11 to 12 P.M. Tuesday at church with rite of committal at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one?s choice in memory of Rosie.
