She attended school at Ithaca Public Schools and went on to work in the China department at Knapps, where she was known for her dedication and steady presence.
Merna had a deep appreciation for antiques and could often be found browsing her favorite thrift stores, especially Goodwill and Meijer in DeWitt. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing softball and later gave her time volunteering with DeWitt schools. She was known for her feisty and stubborn spirit, paired with a sharp sense of humor that never left her. Above all, she was fiercely independent and lived life on her own terms.
Merna was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Raymond Wolfe, as well as her son, Steven Wolfe, and her twelve siblings. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Scott Wolfe (Dawn), sister in-law, Joan Sparks, along with seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren who carry forward her legacy.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Creative Living One for their care and support.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lansing at https://hospiceoflansing.org/giving/in-memory/.
