He faced this disease with courage, grace and humor referring to it as an "inconvenience."
He was born in Madison, WI on January 4, 1972. He is survived by his parents Sandy Shillinglaw Hopkins and Gary D Gibbs and step-father Merlin H Hopkins. Siblings: twin brother Mark Gibbs, sister Holly (Matthew), Gibbs Engel; brother Adam (Mariah) Gibbs; and six beautiful nephews and nieces.
A celebration of his life will be in the spring. See any of our Facebook pages for more about our beloved Michael.
ALS still has neither treatment nor cure because research is grossly underfunded. It can attack anyone and it takes all who are diagnosed with it.
In lieu of flowers we ask for your support to find a cure by making a donation in Michael's name at ALS Therapy Development Institute at www.als.net
The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman, Lansing Chapel. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.grlansing.com.
