Michael Bernard Houston

Age 66 passed away peacefully in the arms of his loved ones on April 25, 2013. He fought a courageous fifteen year battle with many illnesses. Through everything he rarely complained and continued to be charming, sweet and gentle. He was born in Alpena, MI on July 10, 1946. Mike graduated from Sexton High School in Lansing in 1964. He went on to own General Pictures, Inc. and Copygraph Services, Inc. Growing up Mike enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad. Mike always had a passion for playing golf and when he couldn’t play anymore, he enjoyed watching his favorites play on television. Mike was also a big fan of the Detroit Lions, Red Wings and Tigers. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, R. Bernard Houston and Catherine L. Houston. He is survived by his wonderfully devoted and loving wife Shelly (Fenska) Houston of Lansing; his daughter Laura Lundy and husband Gabrial of Grand Rapids; sister Patti Guyselman and husband Charley of Dewitt; sister Debra Houston and partner Marcy Alancraig of Aptos, CA; special mother – in - law Chica Snell of Haslett; sisters-in-law Kim (Don) McKeel of DeWitt and Amy (Peter) George of Lake Orion and many nieces and nephews. Mike will be greatly missed by his cats and dogs, Molly, Sam, Gabriel and Maggie. Mike’s family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and staff of McLaren Greater Lansing and Breslin Cancer Center who provided such excellent care, compassion and support over the past fifteen years. A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 2pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI.
