Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Ann Kress, whom he lost suddenly this past April; and his grandparents, Raymond Lambert, Beulah Lambert, John Kress Sr., and Margaret Kress.
Michael is survived by his son Elijah Kress, stepdaughters Tasha Bancroft, Ashley (Larry) Grissom and their precious children Amelia and Owen, daughter-in-spirit Lilia Lara, parents Bernie and Marlene Kress, siblings Monica (David) McGovern, David (Rachel) Kress, Peggy (Jared) Dell, and Suzie (Pat) Dailey, and many beloved nieces and nephews. There are also countless friends who considered him a brother. To know Mike was to love him and feel loved by him.
Michael was born September 28, 1967 in Indianapolis, IN and grew up in Lansing and Laingsburg, MI graduating from Laingsburg High School in 1986. He was a Registered Nurse and compassionate member of Sparrow Hospital’s care team for over 30 years, serving most recently in the pediatric emergency department.
Michael lived a full life of love, humility and selflessness. He loved the natural world and spent many hours enjoying his creator’s gifts. He blessed us all with his music and laughter and leaves us all as better humans.
