An artistic and creative man Mike worked as a tailor 25 years at Hal Clark Tailors; inspired by his mother Margaret who he watched sew as a little boy and who survives him. His love of photography inspired him to frame his own work beginning 23 years as a business owner of Mike Strobel?s Matting and Framing. In recent months he worked part time at Jos. A. Bank Clothiers. Born September 14, 1947 in Lansing, Mike was a 1965 graduate of Sexton High School and an avid tennis and chess player.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Lisa, who he adored and who adored him. His children Shannon (Holly) Strobel, Shellie (Paul) Finn; step-children, Adam (Tawni) King, Matthew (Heather) King; beloved grandchildren, Connor, McKenna, Eliza, and Dylan; mother, Margaret; father, Earl; brothers, Bob (Leota), Ken (Carol); sister, Nansie (Herb) Ross; brother-in-law, Larry Rott; loving nieces and nephews; his special golf and pool buddies, Steve, Denny, and Paul, and many other friends.
Services remembering Mike?s life will be 3:00 P.M. Monday, June 2, in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing, with Pastor Barbara Flory of Sycamore Creek United Methodist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
