Miriam Sherry-Mitchell

Miriam Sherry-Mitchell, born on April 7, 1926 in Vincennes, Indiana passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 15, 2017. Miriam was the former Business Owner of “Hacker King-Sherry Agency”. She was apart of Bank Board of Community First as well as the Lansing Safety Counsel. Miriam was a long time member of the Pilgrim Congregational Church. She enjoyed traveling worldwide, reading, watching Jeopardy but most of all she was a huge Michigan State University fan. Miriam loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Miriam is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Clara Cockrum; her husbands, C. Robert Sherry, and Sanford G. Mitchell; son, Robert R. Sherry; daughter, Patricia L. Sherry-Underhill; granddaughter, Rebecca L. Underhill; step daughter, Sandra Traverna; step son, Stephen Mitchell; and step-son in law, Vaughn Rawson.She is survived by her son, C. Edward (Janet) Sherry; step-son, Sanford Mitchell II; daughters Marjorie (Eugene) Clark, Stephanie Rawson, Shelly (Michael) Boehnlein, Stasia Mitchell; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, Michigan 48912. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday October 19, 2017 at the funeral home.
