Otis Shaft

Otis H. Shaft Lansing Formerly of Dimondale Age 80, passed away October 16, 2010. Born May 16, 1930 in Grand Blanc, MI. Otis retired in 1976 as a Master Sergeant in the U. S. Air Force after serving a total of 24 years. He enlisted in 1949 and served in Korea, Guam, Japan, and State side as chapel business administrator. He worked for Michigan National Bank as warehouse manager for 10 years. He was an active member at Bethel Baptist Church, and past member, Treasurer, and sound board operator at Bretton Woods Covenant Church. He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, and working in his yard. Otis was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd & Mary Shaft; brother, Frank. Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Virginia B. Shaft; step-children, Connie (Robert) Stuber, Larry (Becky Boger) Fate, and Monica (Dennis) Ball; 5 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary (Darold) Moore, and Bernice Hamilton; special nephew, Dean Hamilton, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Funeral Services will be 12:00 Noon Tuesday, October 19, at Bethel Baptist Church, 810 Edgemont, Lansing with Pastor James E. Robinson officiating. Viewing will be from 11 to 12 Tuesday at church.
