

Paul Haan, 80, of Lansing, MI passed away on February 19, 2018 after a long illness. He was born July 31, 1937 to John and Esther E. (Shipma) Haan in Morrison, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 3 brothers, Harvey Haan, Douglas Haan, and Roger Haan. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mae; daughter, Deborah Larkin; son, Darrell Haan; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Craig (Vicky) Haan; and sister, LaVonne (Ken) Huizenga. Paul worked for American Air Filter in Morrison, IL and Brownsville, TN before coming to Michigan. When he moved to Lansing, he worked for Tranter Mfg. and Long Development where he was a foreman. While with Long, he helped develop County Meadows Subdivision in DeWitt, MI. He was a residential builder whose specialty was high quality finish carpentry. His work was all custom work, and he was a perfectionist. He lived by the rule "Do it right, or don't do it!" In his later years, he worked at Tiffany Funeral Home as a Funeral Director Assistant, which he enjoyed very much. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Funeral Service is 11:00 AM Friday, February 23, 2018 at Immanuel Community Reformed Church, 3200 Delta River Drive, Lansing with Pastor Richard Heusinkveld officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Great Lakes Caring Hospice. The family is being served by Tiffany Funeral Home.
