R. Ruth Wiegman

Ruth left her earthly body and went home to be with her God on January 31, 2013 at the age of 91. She was born September 25, 1921 in Portland, MI, the daughter of the late Grover and Eva (Reed) Franks. Ruth married Paul Edward Wiegman in 1939 and he predeceased her in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her middle son, Rev. G. James Wiegman in 2007; and her only sibling, Robert Franks. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, W. Paul (Sherri) Wiegman of Lansing, and Gary Wiegman of Grayling; daughter-in-law, Kathy Lee Wiegman of Virginia; loving grandchildren, Kristine Wiegman, Jamie Wiegman (Wilbur) Basye, Jodi Wiegman, Sarah Wiegman, Sharon Wiegman Fix, and Douglas Wiegman; as well as 4 great-grandchildren. A loving mother and grandmother, Ruth’s life centered on her family and her faith. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, February 4th at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. For those desiring, contributions may be made to South Church of the Nazarene, 401 W.
