Richard McDaniel

Cpl. Richard (Rick) J. McDaniel, Aug. 8 1960-April 5, 2021, passed away from Huntington's Chorea. Rick had a colorful childhood. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and reported to Ft. Sill for Basic Training on May 20, 1978. He had a general technical score of 103 on the ASVAB and after completing Basic Training he went to Ft. Bening, GA for Infantry School, then went to Air Assault School. After graduation, he was assigned to D Troop 2/17 Cav 101st Airborne Division and then was sent to Korea, he served as a Guard on the DMZ until January 1980. Then he was sent to the 8th U.S. Army Honor Guard Silent Drill Team. He came home to the USA and transferred to the U.S. Army Reserve in Lansing, MI and then left the service when his contract was done. He went on with his life and never married.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews: Robert, Sandy, Steven Isaac, Noah, Elizabeth, William, Laurie, Page, Kyle, Olivia, Beca, Tess, Stewart, Seikichi, William, hazel, Tracy, Russ, Kimmy, Mackenzie, Gabe, Brendan, Mark, Melissa, Tom, Julian, Liam, Dylan, Jody, Tyler, Donavan, Ryan, Kaleigh and his uncle, Gary. He is preceded in death by his aunts and uncles: Garnett, Joanne, Stanley, Vicky and Woodworth and his nephew, Daniel; father, Richard McDaniel; mother, Carol Smeadly and his grandparents of 21 generations:
