Age 89 passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2010. He was born on August 17, 1921 to the late Kenneth and Dorothea Parker. Richard graduated from Eastern/Central High School. He was married to his childhood sweetheart for 64 years, Anita (Box) Parker. He served in the U.S. Army Core of Engineers “Blue Devils” in W.W. II. Richard worked as a journeyman pattern maker and was the owner of Lansing Pattern. He was an avid conservationist, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita; son-in-law, Daniel Willson; brother, Russell Parker and sister, Geraldine Hartig. Surviving are his three children, Randon (Vicki) Parker, Daria Willson (Bruce Smith) and Dalisa (Robert) Phillips; 7 grandchildren, Ty (June) Parker, Ryan Parker, Ann Parker, Darik (Karen) Willson, Darin (Nicki) Willson, Laveda Willson and Detta (Mike) Hogan; 7 great grandchildren, MacKenzie, Maxwell, Keegan, Brody, Emily, Kayla and Avery. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 13, 2010 at North Westminster Presbyterian Church, 743 N. M. L. King Blvd., Lansing with the Rev. Timothy Chon officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
