

Richard E. Wurmnest III, passed peacefully into eternal life on Monday, December 27, 2021, at the age of 48. Richard was born in Lansing Michigan on July 12, 1973, to Richard Jr. and Rosalie (Phillips). His parents were among the many loved ones welcoming him into heaven.
Rich had many hobbies and was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, racing, cars in general, sports and he was an accomplished bowler with a total of 5 perfect 300 games to his name. He spent his career working as an automotive service technician, with his last five years spent at Shaheen Chevrolet in Lansing where he was part of the family.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Alissa Marie, his sisters Penny (Brian) Burger and Pam Wurmnest, stepbrother Robert (Rachel) Coryell, stepsisters Misty (Dirk) DeLong and Nikole Johnson, and stepfather Robert Coryell. He was also the proud, doting uncle to Jessica (Timothy) David, Adam (Hannah) Husby, Brenden Burger, Brianna Burger, Jordan (Chelsea) Wurmnest, Amanda Demery, and Sierra Wurmnest, all of whom he lovingly referred to as animals and brats. He was also great-uncle to Daniel, Isaac, Wyatt, Ella, Rainiah, Josiah, Jaydan, Jayden, and Jaxon. Rich also leaves behind many more aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that love him and will miss him.
Visitation for Richard will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2022, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman Family Funeral Homes located at 900 E. Michigan Avenue in Lansing. Funeral services will be officiated by Steven Hampton on Monday, January 3, 2022, at 11:00 am at the funeral home with interment following at East Lawn Memory Gardens at 2400 Bennett Road in Okemos.
Serving as pallbearers are Jordan Wurmnest, Adam Husby, Brenden Burger, Timothy David, Rick Bradshaw and Steve Billings.
