Bob was my grandmother's neighbor.  I've known him for nearly my entire life.  After colleve in the early 90's (and until I could find an engineering job) Bob and I worked closely together for quite some time doing remodeling work and other odd jobs.  (Construction, plumbing, concrete, electrical, you name it...)  It was a pure treat.  Bob's knowledge seemed to extend almost infinitely in every direction.  In those 18 months I learned so much about everything; invaluable knowledge that I treasure to this day.  In my personal AND professional life I have no fear of taking on a task and Bob deserves much of the credit for that.  Personally he was a joy to spend time with... work was never work when you worked with Bob.  My thoughts are with Bob's family, because they lost such a gem of a man.  He is truly one of the best influences I've been privileged to have in my life.  One of a kind!  Cheers Bob, you made a huge difference in my life and I'm a better man to have known you!

Our families (the Harts, Keckritzs, Noyces and Schaars) were so blessed to have had Bob in our lives on Vine Street.  My mother, Lucile Schaar Keckritz, felt Bob was the closest to a second son as she could have.  So many fond memories.  Thanks, and God bless you Bob.

Bob was my friend and knew me since I was born. He always had something kind and nice to say. He use to take me into his Workshop and he always had a neat project going all the time. He was always quick to teach a lesson or lend a helping hand! I pray now that Bob is with the Lord and in a most happier and better place and will soon be joining us here on Earth when Jesus Christ returns. For he was truly a good man and a loving father. I pray for the family to grieve only but for a short time and realize that it's really a time of joy and rebirth for Bob and soon for us all. Bob was such a good friend and neighbor.  We met the Savage family 45 years ago when we bought our home on Vine Street.  Bob was always available to lend a helping hand.  He was our friend and mentor. Bob taught me many skills and was a man of great patience. Our prays are with the Savage family.

hey bobby you left us all too soon   I got out of the army in 1970  my wife Brenda had bought a house  un bknows too me before I got out  right across the street  from bob an babe how we met  was  water  was leaking  in the house I went over too bobs introduced my self an asked  if he knew how too shut off the water  he just smiled an said too babe go over an shut the water off for this young man   I was 21 an dumb from that day on bobby babe linda an robin were my family bob was  my second dad  46yrs iv loved that man he taught me soooo much  im just reflecting on  all the good times now we had with bobby an the tears are running down my cheeks       R. Bob was working at City Hall when I started with the city in 1990.  He was the most intelligent, talented, caring and unselfish man I have known.  You would never find a better friend and I consider myself so blessed to have known him.  God Bless you in this time of loss.

The previous comments signed by me, Carol Thomas, were entered by my son Jacob. Jacob is 17 years old. He has autism. He knew Mr. Bob when he was five years old. Yes, Mr. Bob was our handyman when he lived on Vine Street, in our neighborhood. Over the years he worked on hundreds of projects for us. Jacob and his twin brother Joshua and their younger sister Caroline loved it when Mr. Bob came over. He was very sincere and kind to them. Always had a joke. He taught Josh how to shingle the clubhouse roof in our backyard.  He was friendly and kind to Jacob when his autistic behaviors would have put other people off. We missed him and Jeanette when they moved, but we still had contact. Jeanette would bring us apples from the MSU orchards every fall. And we still hired Bob for needed repairs and upkeep on our house.  He was a wonderful man. We are so glad we were able to be his friend. And we are so sorry for your loss.

Our condolences to the family of Robert savage from the rite aid pharmacy staff. Mr. Savage will be missed. It was our pleasure to have known him.

We are so sorry to hear of Bob's passing.  He fixed many things for my husband before our marriage and since. He also did so much fixit up stuff for our friends Clem and Louie. Bob was a good person, quiet and kind. I remember my mom and I would always run into him and Jeanette at Findlay's on my birthday. It turned out that Bob and I had the same birthday and would go to Findlay's for the free birthday dinner. He will be missed.
