Our loving father and grandfather passed away October 20, 2016. Robert was born in Lansing on April 19, 1932 to Clarence James Werner and Beulah May (Covert) Werner. Bob was in the Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954. He was an hourly employee at Oldsmobile before going into the service. He graduated from Michigan State University and then returned to Oldsmobile and retired in 1988 as Manager of Forward Program Analysis after 31 years of service. He was an avid golfer and was a long time member of Ledge Meadows Golf Course. He also belonged to the Hearth and Hill Ski Club and enjoyed skiing in his early years. He also enjoyed going to Gulf Shores, AL for the winter months. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Kay Werner; parents; and his sisters, Joyce Johnson, and Arlene (Clark) Blodgett. Surviving are his son, David S. Werner; granddaughters, Calista and Regina Werner; Brother-in-Law, Bruce Johnson, and several nieces, a nephew, and many friends.

Memorial services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 5, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church, 3827 Delta River Dr. Lansing with Rev. Lori Sykes officiating. Robert will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery.
