You have left behind a thousand moments that will live in our hearts forever. We will miss you. Born January 24, 1925, in Lansing, Michigan, passed away on December 8, 2006, at the age of 81. Ron married his Lansing Eastern High School sweetheart, Joyce Curtis, and celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on April 12, 2006. Proud, dedicated, hardworking, strong willed, and loyal only begin to describe this former U.S. Marine, husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ron served in the U.S. Marine Corps. in World War II for 3 years and was stationed in Okinawa and the South Pacific and finished his tour in China. He worked for Unisys Corporation (formerly Burroughs Corp.) and retired after 38 years. His career began in Lansing, transferred to Long Island, New York, and then back to Detroit before he retired in 1981. Ron was an avid sportsman and loved to fish, golf, bowl, travel and watch his favorite Detroit Tigers and Detroit Pistons. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; daughters, Janice (Ronald) Hoover of DeWitt, Kathryn (Paul) Chanel of DeWitt, Carolyn (Gerald) Branch of DeWitt; son, Steven (Jeanine) Cushion of West Bloomfield; grandchildren, Gary (Christina) Branch, Jeff (Bobbie Jo) Freund, Brooke Hoover, Jamie Freund, Becky (Dan) Thelen, Clint Hoover, Bryan (Missy) Branch, Kyle Cushion, Cameron Cushion; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Aubrey Freund, Owen and Mason Branch; sister-in-law, Betty (Leon) Cushion; one niece and two nephews. The family will receive friends from 3-4 pm with a Memorial Service at 4:00 pm Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw Hwy, Lansing 48917. We would sincerely like to thank the caring and kind staff at Ingham Regional Medical Center and Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice for their exceptional care.
