The sun rose on Ronald F. Sickles at his birth on June 6, 1938 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI.
The sunlight dimmed and set at his transition from this earth on May 27, 2021 at the age of 82.
After graduating from Eastern High School in 1957 he joined the marines and proudly served in the Artillery Division. Following an honorable discharge, he worked at Lindell Drop Forge for 29 years and later worked for Amber Management.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rollo (Rowdy) and Donna Sickles, brother James Sickles and son-in-law Duane Cross.
He is survived by his loving wife Dee of 48 years, five children Rodney (Mary Ellen) Sickles, Wayne (Dawn) Holmes, Susan Cross, Robin (Jeff) Rudnick and Peggy (David) Warner, 10 grandchildren Norman Benjamin, Clinton Taylor, Krystin Sankey, Trena Benjamin, Brooks Warner, Tyler O’Dell, Theresa Nisch, Matt Sickles, Ryan Holmes, Stacy Holmes and 13 great grandchildren.
Ron lived a full life. He looked forward to spending time with the family, especially when everyone got together on Christmas Eve. He enjoyed softball, bowling, square dancing, and riding his motorcycle on the open road. He belonged to the Fraternal Order of the Moose in Lansing and the B.O.T.Hwy motorcycle club. He and Dee loved to travel by car, motorcycle, air, and ship. One of their favorite destinations was Key West. They went on several cruises and traveled all over the US on their motorcycle.
Services will be at 1:30 Friday, June 4, at Redeemer Church, 2727 W. Holmes Road, Lansing, MI 48911. Visitation will be 1 hour prior.
