Roseline Regina Fedewa, born on November 24, 1927, in Fowler, Michigan, passed away on December 13, 2025, at the age of 98. She grew up in Fowler on the family dairy farm, the fourth of six children. She graduated from Fowler High School. She loved to dance and met the love of her life, Hilary Fedewa, at one of the community dances. They were married on her birthday, November 24, 1949, at Most Holy Trinity Church in Fowler. Together they raised five children on Robins Road in Lansing.
Rosie was a kind, loving mother and wife. Her faith was important throughout her life. As a young woman, Rosie was known for visiting homebound people, including a blind neighbor. She was a member of St. Gerard Church since 1966 where she and Hilary opened the church and led the Rosary before daily Mass. She was instrumental in starting “Loaves and Fishes,” a ministry for feeding the homeless. Rosie was a key member of “Right to Life of Michigan,” where she oversaw the “Right to Life Flower Sale,” in the Diocese of Lansing. She helped start the “Life Chain” movement, advocated for “Shared Pregnancy,” and any other pro-life ventures she could find. She received “The Respect Life Award” for her championship of the unborn. As a member of the “Blue Army Cell Group,” Rosie actively recruited for weekly prayer and meditation. She was also instrumental in bringing the “Adoration Chapel” and “Chaplet of Divine Mercy" to Lansing. All of this is because of her insatiable love for people and a desire to see everyone in Heaven. She had a keen awareness of the pains of Hell and loathed the thought of anyone having to spend eternity there.
Surviving are her children, Garret (Becky) Fedewa, Carol (Doug) Salisbury, Colleen (Pat) Plunkett, Roy (Terry) Fedewa, Bruce (DeAnna) Fedewa; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; brother Bernard (Marylin) Thelen; sister-in-law, Marie Thelen.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Hilary Fedewa; great-grandchild, Devan Roggow; siblings, Eugene (Evelyn) Thelen, Kathleen (Clare) Simon, Wilbur Thelen, and Joe Thelen.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Saturday, December 20, 2025, at St. Gerard Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing, with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of Mass. A Luncheon will follow.
