Rosemarie was born on March 19, 1942, at Hackley Hospital in Muskegon, Michigan, to Lloyd Waddle and Dorothy Waddle. After Lloyd's death and Dorothy remarrying, Rosemarie was adopted by Stillman Aiken. She was a graduate of Holt High School in Holt, MI and went on to attend trade school, where she became a licensed manicurist.
In addition to her work as a manicurist, Rosemarie held a variety of roles in her former husband's real estate business, including bookkeeping and office management. She later dedicated over 25 years of service to the State of Michigan Secretary of State’s office before retiring in 2013.
Faith was an important part of Rosemarie's life. She was a longtime member of Miller Road Bible Church in Lansing and remained active in Bible study groups even after the church closed. She also occasionally attended South Baptist Church. Rosemarie believed deeply in Christ as her Lord and Savior and found strength and community through her faith.
She will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and the joy she brought to those around her. Rosemarie had a gift for connecting with people and looked forward to making friends wherever she went. She loved reading, swimming, painting, sewing, cooking, traveling, and especially line dancing. Above all, she was proud of raising her four boys on her own, a testament to her strength and devotion as a mother.
Rosemarie is survived by her sons, Clinton William (Marlene) Thomas, Dale Alan Thomas, and Stephen Lee (Lynne) Thomas; daughter-in-law, Dawn Thomas; her brother, Dan Weaver; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Scott Michael (Dawn) Thomas; her sister, Elaine Getz; and brother, Lloyd (Angie) Aiken.
Although Rosemarie grew up impoverished and during hard social times, she made a life that was a beautiful reflection of faith, family, and perseverance. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Clint, Dale, Stephen, and the entire family are exceedingly proud of her for the life she has provided for us all. May God rest her soul.
