Dad,

You were the best.  I miss you now and always will.  I pray you are at peace with mom and the angels.  You left a quite a legacy to live up to.  I love you.

Dear Karen, Linda, Kay, Jacki, and Denise,

Mary Ann and I are so very sorry to hear about Uncle Floyd.  It is so obvious from all of your photos that he lived a very rich life, both with his family and with his students.

I've attached a photo of the Schwab Kids taken at the 1983 reunion in Wauseon.  I don't remember, but it must have been quite a scandal that Aunt Betty and my mother were wearing identical dresses.

I know that you, your kids, and their kids must feel a terrible loss. What a testimony of Uncle Floy's life that he is missed so much by so many.

Coach Schwab was such a dear and caring man.  I had him for history and was always so impressed with his kindness. He was indeed a positive influence and great example of a good man.

Dear Schwab Girls and Family,
I was so sad to hear of the death of Uncle Floyd. You all are in my thoughts and prayers on this difficult day but it is also a day to rejoice in the life of your father who was such a blessing to so many.  Wishing you all God's comfort and peace.

I played basketball for coach Schwab and have very fond memories of how well he treated me and the rest of his team members. He was a good and decent person and an fine example to us all. Later he proved he was more than just a coach but a good friend as he was responsible for my being inducted into the Eaton Rapids Athletic Hall of Fame. A recognition I will always cherish.

Coach Schwab was a stabilizing influence on many of us who grew up in the '50s'. He was, at first, the parent away from home; always there to greet us as we arrived for summer recreation on the baseball diamond and the weekly swim trip to Duck Lake. A short time later as we were becoming young adults in high school, he was our teacher and coach. Then after college, a few of us returned to join him on the teaching staff at Eaton Rapids High School and served as coaches while he was Athletic Director. Some time later we moved on, yet he was there at class reunions, and the '59' football Hall of Fame team induction. We were grandparents by now; but Coach Schwab remained steadfast as a 'parent away from home' throughout his life. 
At least, that’s the way I saw it. Surely, all of us will miss him. You, his family, can  take comfort  in knowing how much he has influenced and enriched so many lives for so many years.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.  Losing a parent is very difficult no matter what age. Memories will be with you always.  Your father was so proud of his family and just this Christmas wrote in his Christmas card what beautiful, loving, caring daughters he has.  He said he was so blessed.

Coach Schwab was very instrumental in thousands of young lives.  He was always very easy going and always supporting.  I remember him most from summer "little league" as he took responsibility for the program for many years.  I recall being hit in the mouth with a baseball and Coach carrying me off to the doctors for stitches.  I also remember the joy he expressed at our 40th HS reunion in 2000.  A wonderful man, mentor and friend.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Your father was such a kind and gentle soul.  I enjoyed having coffee with him on Wednesdays at the Clubhouse so much.  Those days will be missed as will your dad but the memories will live on forever.  My prayers and heartfelt sympathy go out to you and the family in your time of grief.  Sincerely,

Mr. Schwab was a great man.  I know this, through my friend, Denise.  She is a strong individual, talented and creative.  Her father gave her the strength to become her own person and fly.  

By viewing the Photo Gallery, I see that Mr. Schwab had many accomplishments and joys in his life.  He lived a good life.  He will be missed and cherished.  Mr. Schwab was a great man.

Denise, Awna, and Paul (and the rest of the family)  I know how much he meant to you and your family. There are no words to properly express the sorrow and sympathy I feel for you now.

Dad, I cannot begin to thank you enough for being this incredible "rock" in my life and in our family. I remember you as always being a loyal and devoted provider for your wife and children. Several times in my life, when I was sad or confused about life's journey - you consoled and comforted me and often directed me to The Lord's Prayer and Jesus' teaching of the mustard seed faith in Matthew 13:31-32. 
  As I am writing this, I see your picture - your smile and twinkling eyes are smiling on me right now.  
  I will miss you tremendously, while the angels welcome you with open arms into the comfort and joy in God's eternal resting home.  That makes me smile right back at you- with a really big smile. Thanks so much for being my daddy, a great strong, yet gentle giant in my life.  A wonderful father-in-law to Joe, and wonderful grandpa to Nick and Pete and Chantae. My words cannot thank you enough.
  Thank you too for taking me along sometimes to help line the baseball fields, football field, trips to the dump (those special one-on-one times that you invited each of your children - individually, so they could be right with you.)
