Scott William Shepard, 60, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away on March 10, 2018 with family by his side. A memorial will be held at Harry’s Place on 404 N. Verlinden Ave in Lansing, Michigan, on Saturday, March 24, 2018 beginning at 12 noon.
Scott was born in Lansing, Michigan to Freddie Earl Shepard Jr. and Joyce Gutzki Largent on September 6, 1957. He attended Everett High School in Lansing.
Scott was united in marriage to Linda René Schuette (Shepard) on November 21, 1992 and they celebrated their 25th anniversary last year.
Throughout his lifetime Scott worked many careers including chef and manager at various restaurants in the Houston, Texas and the Lansing,Michigan areas. On top of culinary careers, Scott also spent much of his life working as a truck driver, a courier, and a warehouse manager for Xerox and SPD.
Even though Scott worked many careers what truly defined him was his outgoing and personable relationship with his family and his friends. Scott is survived by his wife, Linda; his children: Lucas Carl (Brittany) Shepard of Pearl City, Hawaii, Emily Diane Stepp of Jackson, Michigan, and Zachary Scott Shepard of Lansing, Michigan and by his three grandchildren, Lilly, Weston, and Laynee. Scott is also survived by his siblings Denise Fase of Lansing, Michigan, Mary (Bob) Wildmann of Arizona, Michelle (Jeff) Bur of Howell, Michigan, Julie Simon of Lansing, Michigan, and James Largent of Alabama, along with his parents-in-law Harvey and Doris Schuette of Pigeon, Michigan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, mother, and stepfather.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be sent to the Capital Area Humane Society or the charity of the family’s choice. Capital Area Humane Society is located on 7095 W. Grand River Avenue in Lansing, Michigan 48906. Envelopes will be provided at the memorial service.
