Shirley Kay Crowley

Shirley passed away peacefully in Lansing, MI on Saturday, March 3, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 18, 1937 in Pontiac, MI and spent her early childhood years there. When the family relocated to Lansing, MI, she was in high school, and she became a graduate of Eastern High School. Shirley's love of learning led her to pursue a career in teaching. She graduated from Michigan State University with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education. Her interest was in elementary education, and her entire professional career was spent teaching in the Waverly School District. Later in life, she relocated to Kewadin, MI where she lived for about 23 years before returning to Lansing in 2017. She was a member of South Church. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Dorsey E. and Iola M. Lawrence; and sister, Marlene Haskin of Waterford, MI. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela J. Crowley of Corvallis, MT; sister, Judith A. Lawrence of Lakewood, WA; and niece, Jill E. Haskin of Clarkston, MI. Visitation is 2-5 PM Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Funeral Service is 11:00 AM Monday, March 12, 2018 with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
