Shirley Anne Maybee

Shirley Anne Maybee was born on January 20, 1934 in Lansing, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Reta (Gilbert) Hoffmeyer, passed away March 2, 2017 at the age of 83. Shirley graduated from Everett High School in 1951. She proudly worked with the Attorney General’s Office for 31 years, she retired in 1994. Shirley was also a volunteer with the Capital Area Community Service’s Outreach Office, a member of Women of the Moose # 116, and a member of the Mason Holt Auxiliary 3734 Eagles. Shirley enjoyed many years of extending her heart to anyone one in need. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Hospice Circle of Love, Oklahoma especially Holly and Gary. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; William Duncan (1969), husband; Virgil L. Maybee (1999); brothers, William (Ginny) Hoffmeyer, J.G. Hoffmeyer (surviving wife Penny); sister Nancy (George) Serr.

She will be remembered by her son, Gary (Carlene) Duncan; daughters, Cheri (Tom) Clubb, Teresa (Mike) Cipicchio, Jeri (Steve) Permoda; step-children Len (Cindy) Maybee, Bob Maybee, Jim (Michelle) Maybee, Susan Smith and Betty (Carl) May.

Shirley will also be remembered by her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 7, 2017 with visitation at 10:00 a.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, Michigan. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00- 8:00 p.m. on Monday at The Funeral Home.
