Shirley Maxine Morris

Shirley Maxine Morris, born April 29, 1951, died at the age of 64 on March 10, 2016. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Elinor McClure, and brothers Roger and Richard McClure. Surviving Shirley is her long time companion Delmas Shaffier, brothers Dennis (Rose) and Ed (Tia) McClure. Also surviving to cherish the memory of Shirley are several nieces and nephews; step-children Alan, David and Lorraine Martenies; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Shirley loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed reading. Shirley would knit special baby blankets for all of the new babies in the family, although in the past couple of years, it became more difficult for Shirley to do so. Shirley had developed kidney failure, so she had to receive dialysis treatments three times a week. This took a toll on her body. The family would like to say a very special thank you to the girls at Fresenius Medical Care for the great treatment they gave to Shirley. You gave us a few extra years with her. She loved all of you girls. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 11:00 am at Gorsline Runciman Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912, with Celebrant Harold DeMott officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, March 14 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman Lansing Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family in care of Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912.
