Shirley Ann Perron

Shirley "Sandy", age 74, passed away on August 23, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 24, 1940 to Arthur and Gladys Roberts in Lansing, MI. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and a brother, Doug Roberts. Shirley is survived by 4 children, Joe (Terri) Perron, Penny (Scott) Wright, Jim Perron and Mike Perron; 11 grandchildren, Joe's children: R.J., Andrea and Matthew Perron, Penny's children: Carlos Herrera, Holly and Lacey Wright, Jim's daughter: Jayme Perron, Mike's children: Shelby, Anthony and Thomas Perron and Kaitlyn Williams and 2 great granddaughters, Ariana Rosas and Aubriella Herrera; 4 sisters, Judy Gower, Carol (Tedd) Sperling, Kathy (Joe)Bashore and Connie (Bruce) Seglund, 3 brothers, Jim (Pam), Mike (Sue) and Terry (Jackie) Roberts.

Shirley graduated Holt High School, then worked at General Motors until she was married and spent several years as a stay at home Mom. She went to work at Farmers Insurance Group as an Executive Secretary until she retired 15 years ago. She spent her time retired enjoying her children, grandchildren, sisters and other family. Shirley had an amazing sense of humor and a giving heart and will be greatly missed. She struggled with multiple health issues for a long time and finally was at peace after a short stay at the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, Lansing. A special thanks to the amazing staff at Hospice.

A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Asbury United Methodist Church on Lake Lansing Rd., Lansing. Family will greet friends immediately following and a lunch will be provided at the church. Flowers may be sent directly to Asbury or in lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Shirley to the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan in Lansing.
