Goodbye Old FriendAlthough I haven't seen Steve in so very long I still feel a deep loss in his passing. I will now have to wait for heaven to hear him laugh one more time. My husband, Tom, worked with Steve at the Huddle West Lounge and Steve was an usher at our wedding in 1989. I smiled when I saw he was in a tux in his obituary picture because he thought he looked so cool in one. Tom and Steve shared many laughs and many tears during the years they worked together. He was always a friend you could count on and I deeply regret not making the effort to see him again. Aaron, please know that your father was always so very proud of you as I am sure he was of the rest of his family.

It was nice to see Steve when I came up for Randy's funeral. We had a chance to talk for a while. It brought back good memories of us growing up in Lansing. We'll all miss him. God Bless

I just wanted to say I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Steve when we were teenagers. He had a wonderful kind heart. I am sure he will be greatly missed.

CondolencesI was so sorry to read of Steve's passing. I grew up with him, and he was always a character. I saw him through the years, and he was always as kind as he was as a child. I know he had some struggles, and I am happy he was able to have joy and love in his life here on earth before he passed. To the Pierce familyMy thoughts are with you all. I started running into Steve during soccer games as his children and my daughter were on the same team. I know just from the brief talks I had with him how important his family was to him. He was loved by many. I wish you all well and the service was beautiful. It was good to see old friends and new friends there for him and his family.

To Ginger and KidsI just heard of Steves passing and am so deeply saddened. I remember talking to you last Summer and how happy the two of you are. Hold on to that...Steve was wonderful. From a former neighbor, schoolmate and best friendFond memories of Steve and Randy Ahrens (who passed last year). I lived up one block on Clifton. My sister Georgia (now Jorgia) and I hung around the Pierces at home, school, Scott Woods and at friends. He was so small for his age--imagine my surprise seeing him as an adult and finding him dwarfing my modest 5'9" frame. Hi to everyone in the family, especially Alice, Nancy and Sid.

To GingerGinger (and family), I just read Steve's obituary in the paper. I am so sorry. I know how happy you were. Steve and I spoke during the playground project. He was so genuine and talked of you and your blended family with love. I know there is no "right" thing to say. I will be thinking of and praying for you and your family. April

Old ThoughtsI know that there is no comfort for those close to Steve right now but it will come, this I know. I grew up with him and I remember when we thought 50 was way old. It seems so young now. I am so very sorry to hear he is gone. I know he'll be missed. I have been thinking of him this week. He used to walk me to school every day and when he came to my door he took out his retainer (which I never even knew he wore!).
