Thomas Blake Blankenship, 93, passed away January 23, 2019. He was born July 27, 1925 to Hershel P. and Mary A. (Woodrough) Blankenship in Gleason, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Naomi and Macon Blankenship and brother-in-law Bud Hill; his beloved wife of 60 years, Nova, and grandchildren, Chad Klein and Nora NovaLee Blough. He is survived by his siblings, Paul (Alice) Blankenship, Jane Hill and sister-in-law Jean Blankenship; his daughter, Denise A. (Jim) Elsie; son, Michael (Vickie) Blankenship; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Bobbie Warren. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was an engineer for General Motors before retirement. He liked to tell stories to anyone that would listen, hunt, travel, camp and play golf. He enjoyed his years at the race track building cars and later drag racing the Rectifier . Funeral Service is 11 AM Monday, January 28, 2019 at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing with Pastor Timothy Chon officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Delta Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Nora’s Garden Inc. (norasgarden.wixsite. com/noras garden) or North Westminster Presbyterian Church, or Michigan Premier Hospice in his memory.
