Timothy James Hammond

Born on September 5, 1946, in Marietta, Georgia, Timothy was the beloved son of Florence Mary (Keys) and Robert John Hammond. On February 14, 1980, he married the love of his life, Maryellen Hannah. Together, they shared 36 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2016.

Timothy is survived by his sisters-in-law, Jeanne Prindle of Holt, MI, and Linda Thibault of Lansing, MI; his brother-in-law, Thomas Hannah; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Mike and Patrick Hammond.

Timothy lived a life filled with simple joys and unwavering faith. He enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, cheering on the Detroit Tigers and Michigan State Spartans, and never missed a Sunday at church. Known for his cheerful spirit and positive outlook, Timothy also had a unique niche for entering, and oftentimes winning, contests.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Richard Craft and Ruth Nixon for their many years of friendship, love, and guidance in Timothy's life.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM, with a one-hour prior visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Lansing Chapel, 900 E Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912. Following the service, a meal will be served at Christ Community Church, 227 N Capitol Ave., Lansing, MI 48933.
