

Colleen was born on December 25, 1931 to Christian and Matilda Bamesberger on the family farm in Lowry, South Dakota, the second of seven children. Upon graduation from Gettysburg (SD) High School, she married Henry M. Bieber, also of Lowry. Colleen was a stay-at-home mother for many years but eventually entered the workforce where she spent many years in various clerical and bookkeeping positions, finishing her career with several years in the Michigan Adoption Services agency. Her children knew her as a loving and attentive parent who instilled in her children self-confidence and independence, and a love of reading and learning.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry, and by brothers Wilson and Harlan Bamesberger and sister Judith Strusz. She is survived by her sisters Luella Miller of Selby, SD and Carol Harris of PawPaw, MI, and brother W. Lee Bamesberger of Pullman, WA, and by her children Monty (Nancy) Bieber, Holt, MI, Susan Case, Double Oak, TX, Wanda (Kevin) Irwin, Granbury, TX, Linda (Rex) Fenimore, Fishers, IN, Carla (Tom) Jillson, Kings Mountain, NC, Jewel Hainer, Chicago, IL and Kathy (Todd) Needham, Fennville, MI; and her grandchildren – Carin (Bieber) McEvoy, Kelly (Bieber) Schalter and Emily Bieber-Harris, Cody Case, Allison Case, Carly (Case) Anderson, Robert Irwin, Brianna (Fenimore) Goodwin, Rhetlen Fenimore, Kali Fenimore, Tom Jillson, Tina (Jillson) Pereira, Nathan Jillson, Jacob Jillson, and Christopher Hainer, and by 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a memorial service for Colleen at a date yet to be determined.
