Victoria J. Hasbany, age 78 passed away May 17, 2013. She was born February 12, 1935 in Palestine, the daughter of Michael and Warda (Calille) Mekhayel. She married Jerios Hasbany and he preceded her in death in 1979. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who was generous and hospitable. She never let anyone leave her home hungry. She was a fantastic cook and also enjoyed knitting, traveling and going to the casino. Survivors include her sons: John (Kimberley) Hasbany and Imad (Vivian) Hasbany; 6 grandchildren: Jerios, James, Joseph, Julianne, Victor and Victoria; sisters: Florene (Bishara) Gedeon, Nohad (Leftar) Manuel, Lamia (Nimer) Haddad; brothers: Deeb (Venette) Mekhayel, Samir (Kamle) Mekhayel, Monib (Naly) Mekhayel, Simon Mekhayel; brothers and sister-in-laws: Nimer (Aida) Hasbany, Milad (Josephine) Hasbany, Julia Abu-Haider and their families. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St Joseph Melkite Greek Catholic Church, 725 W. Mt. Hope, Lansing. Entombment at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at Tiffany Funeral Home Monday, May 20th from 2-4 & 6-8 PM with a Trisagion service at 7:00 PM. And 1 hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday.
