Wade V. Thompson

Age 69, our loving husband, father, and grandfather was called home unexpectedly to his Lord on June 16, 2014. Born December 19, 1944 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Wade retired after 32 years as a computer project manager with the Michigan D.N.R., and later worked for Compuware. He volunteered in Roscommon, MI with Habitat for Humanity. He was an association board member for both Brookside in Delta Twp. and High Point in Florida where he spent his winters. He enjoyed helping others with remodeling projects. Everyone appreciated his sense of humor and good nature. He loved his family and spending time with his grandsons.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Judith Ellen Thompson; three children, Bryan Wade Thompson, Kyle Andrew Thompson, and Kirsten Ann Thompson; two grandsons, Logan Wade Thompson, and Ian Richard Benkert Thompson; sister, Candace (Bruce) Van Farowe; and many other family members and friends. Wade was preceded in death by his parents Mildred & Wade V. Thompson, Sr.

Memorial Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 23, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 2900 N. Waverly Rd. Lansing with Pastor Gary A. Bunge officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. Monday at church. Contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity or St. Stephen Lutheran Church in memory of Wade.
