

Age 84, was welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on April 30, 2022. Wally was born April 13, 1938 in Greenfield, Ohio. He married Carolyn and they moved to Lansing in 1965. Wally began his career in the banking industry. By 1985, his love for photography resulted in a full time business selling his fine art photographs. Along with Carolyn and several of his friends, Wally travelled to Europe to capture the old world images that were featured at art fairs where he sold his photographs throughout the midwest. He also taught Photography at Lansing Community College for 10 years. Wally and Carolyn joined the First United Methodist Church in Lansing , MI in the 1960's. He was an active member until the church closed in December 2021.
Wally was a devoted husband and a kind and thoughtful person who made many lifelong friends from memberships in the Lansing Camera Club, St Johns Camera Club and the Lansing Jaycees. He also made many friends through his love of bicycling, roller skating and going to car shows throughout Michigan.
Wally was preceded in death by Carolyn, his beloved wife of 51 years, his sister Nancy, parents Arnold and Mary and niece Judy.
Surviving are his nephew Frank Elliott, cousin Margaret Seymour and other family members in Ohio, goddaughter Jennifer Hemstreet, godson Jeffrey Hemstreet, longtime friends Rob and Lisa Sepeter, Dan Metzger, Bob Sheap, and many other close friends.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday May 10, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the Tiffany Funeral Home at 3232 W. Saginaw Street, one hour visitation prior to service. Visitation Monday, May 9, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Interment will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Portsmouth, Ohio. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Capital Area Humane Society or the Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center in memory of Wally.
