William Curtin

Born December 18, 1924 in Lansing, the son of the late William and Rose (Pohl) Curtin, passed away April 11, 2013 at the age of 88. Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a long time member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Michigan and owned the Curtin Insurance Agency until 1987. He continued to work at the RMTC Agency in East Lansing until 2006. Bill was a member of the Lions Club and was involved in the development of Lansing’s Eastside Community as a member of the Eastside Commercial Club and the Riverfront development. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Ken Curtin; and grandson, Alex Krauss. Surviving to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 66 years, Betty; children, Larry (Bonnie) Curtin, Tim (Marty) Curtin, Sue (Brant) Krauss, Mary Anne (Bob) Park, (Sharie) Curtin and Lisa (Tim) Stacey; grandchildren, Abbie (Brad) Broughman, Kyle Curtin, Lesley (Jordan) Harris, Alicia Krauss, Julie, Bill, Tim, & Jeff Park, Alana, Kat, Collin, Eliza, & Clay Curtin, Eva, & Seth Stacey; great-grandchildren, Alysiana, Vanessa, and Sierrah Broughman. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Church of the Resurrection, 1531 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, April 15th at the Church of the Resurrection with a rosary at 7:00 PM and 1 hour prior to the service.
