William Junior Stierley

William J. Stierley Age 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 29, 2010. Born March 31, 1930 to William and Myrtie (Sanborn) Stierley in Lansing. William served 20 years in the Air Force retiring in 1968 with the rank of Staff Sargent. He then worked at General Motors for 22 years before retiring. William and his wife Gertrude wintered in Florida for several years. Over the years Bill and his wife have enjoyed camping with family and friends. They have had many fun filled and fierce card and other games with their good friends Dick and Eloise Lucas. Bill enjoyed woodworking, gardening and trying to keep his cars clean.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years and his children David (Evelyn), Pamela (Gary) Martin and and daughter-in-law Tanga Stierley-Korte. Eleven grandchildren. Cory, Danny, Shane (Jessica) Stierley and Mindi (Andrew) Mercer. Rick (Amber), Scott, Steve, Rob (Val) and Andy (Kathy) Stierley. Paulette and Katie Martin. Fourteen great-grandchildren (one on the way) and sister Helen Lingbeek.

He was preceded in death by his son Donald, brother Harold and sister Hazel Harkins, half sisters Anis Stierley, Eva Ambrook, and half brother Fred Stierley.

Funeral service will be celebrated Tuesday, 11:00a.m. at Maranatha Baptist Church, Lansing with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Visitation will also be Sunday 6-8p.m., Monday 2-4p.m.and 6-8p.m.
