William Dean Woodard

He is survived by his wife, Michelle Hempton; his mother, Lisa Woodard; his sister, Betsy (Ben) Woodard; his grandmother, Grandma Disbro; his children, Paige Woodard, Parker Woodard and Adria Hackworth; and stepdaughter, Rachel Dersch. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Arya, his constant companion.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Randy Woodard; and stepson, Derek Dersch.

A proud U.S. Army veteran, Bill served his country with honor. He was a devoted Michigan State hockey fan, and a man who could always find joy in the little things. Known for his humor and his big heart, Bill loved to make people laugh and could brighten any room with his jokes and easygoing spirit. He had a gift for helping others turn tough moments into smiles. Bill was battling several serious health issues, however, his cause of death is still unknown.

In keeping with Bill’s wishes, no services will be held at this time. To honor his memory donations may be made to Stop Soldier Suicide, an organization close to his heart.

Bill will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and anyone lucky enough to have known him.
