Bonnie Clarke Timmons, of Belleair Bluffs, FL - died July 4th, 2021 after a brief illness. Born on November 19th, 1952 in Washington, D.C. to Thomas M. Clarke and Margaret McCoy Clarke, as a child Bonnie stood out as the mechanic of the family, able to fix or put together anything.
A graduate of La Plata (Maryland) High School, Bonnie earned her R.N. from the Alexandria (Virginia) Hospital Center School of Nursing. She married Richard Timmons, M.D. in 1973, and they were true partners for the remaining 48 years of her life.
A devoted mother, she is survived by her two sons, Christopher A. Timmons and his wife, Erin, of Royal Oak, Michigan, and Brian J. Timmons and his wife Pam, of Largo, Florida, as well as her sisters, Marjorie Marsh, Kathleen Yaeger and Elizabeth Clarke, Chris and Erin's niece, Sienna, and eight nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Nancy Leonard.
Bonnie was a generous volunteer, spending much time and effort involved with her Church, where she was an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, her sons' school, where she ran fundraising events, and serving as President of the condominium association. She loved cooking, socializing, and every animal she encountered.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 2121 16th Ave. SW, Largo, Florida; National Public Broadcasting (NPR.org); WEDU.org; or your local non-kill animal shelter.
