Carol Ann Fagin, age 79, of Seminole, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, just one day after celebrating her birthday. She was born on March 23, 1947, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Betty and Donald Bauer.
Carol was a proud graduate of Central High School and went on to live a life defined by love, resilience, and advocacy. On March 18, 1968, she married the love of her life, Michael Tyrone Fagin, with whom she shared a devoted and enduring partnership until her passing.
Carol wore many hats throughout her life. She was a talented self-employed ceramics teacher who inspired creativity in others, and she also served as a part-time police officer in Mankato. In that role, she became a strong and determined advocate for civil rights, notably fighting for women officers to have the right to wear pants and carry the same weapon as their male counterparts—an effort that reflected her courage and commitment to equality. She also earned a certificate in cosmetology, though she chose not to pursue it professionally.
Carol had a vibrant personality and a deep love for music—especially for Prince, whose influence she celebrated with a dedicated room in her home. Known affectionately as “the host with the most,” Carol opened her home and heart to countless friends and family members from around the world. She had a special gift for bringing people together and creating a sense of belonging, particularly during large family holiday gatherings.
She also found great joy in playing bingo, especially at Mystic Lake Casino, where she once celebrated a memorable win of a car.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband, Michael T. Fagin; her children, Anthony “Tony” Fagin, Tonya Marie Fagin, and Tyrone Howard Fagin; her cherished grandchildren, Amira Johnson, Kenesha Fagin, Kaya Phillips, Tyrone Fagin Jr., Tyler Fagin, Tyson Fagin, and Mariah Fagin; and her adored great-grandchildren, Aniyah Fagin, Amiah Rollings, Narieah Fagin, Isaiah Fagin Mortenson, Mosiah Fagin, and Elijiah Ubongen. She is also survived by her great-niece and nephew, Brianna Renick and Anthony Killeen; and her brothers and sisters, Greg Boyd, Gary Boyd, and Richard Boyd.
Carol will be remembered for her warmth, strength, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and community. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the paths she helped pave for those who came after her.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
