Debra Jean Blankley

Born on May 30, 1960, in Middletown, New York, Debra was the beloved daughter of Elizabeth McMann Romaine and John Wesley Romaine Jr. She graduated from Valley Central High School and Pinellas Technical College. Debbie went on to live a life defined by dedication, faith, and love.

On September 16, 1989, Debra married the love of her life, Franklin Blankley. Together, they shared a beautiful and enduring partnership filled with mutual support and deep affection.

Debra had a rich and varied career, first as a Seafood Supervisor for Albertson’s, where her hard work and leadership were admired by many. Later, she followed her true calling as a preschool teacher at Christ the King Christian School. Her passion for working with children was unmistakable—whether in the classroom or leading the children's program at church. Each Sunday, Debra would invite the children to the front of the sanctuary for a special presentation, using simple stories and heartfelt lessons to help young minds understand the love and message of the Bible. Debbie was a Sunday School teacher for more than 20 years.

Her infectious smile, compassionate spirit, and unwavering faith left a profound impact on everyone she met, from the smallest child to the oldest friend. Debra’s legacy of kindness and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Franklin Blankley, as well as her siblings Patty Myers, James Romaine and Joan Machado. Debbie is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating Debra’s life will take place on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment and a reception.
