Elaine Kronon, an exceptional creative designer, author, courageous optimist, encourager, and supportive mother passed away in Largo, Florida January 27, 2024. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Ron. Elaine was 85 years of age with a sharp, self-taught, intellectual mind.
Elaine grew up in Chicago and entered the workforce as an executive secretary. In the early 1970s, she decided to change careers and venture into automobile sales, a field that women did not work in at the time. Although other salespeople criticized her, and told her she would never be successful, she developed her own approach to sales; a unique system that helped her achieve success and ultimately led to her winning awards as one of the leading salespeople at all the dealerships where she worked. Her achievements propelled her to become a business manager at two different vehicle leasing firms in the 1980s.
After leaving the automobile industry, Elaine discovered her artistic talent and became a miniature designer. Once again, she followed her own vision and with Ron’s partnership, created dioramas in contemporary, modern style, with a flair that was unprecedented in the miniature world. Her artistic creations were featured in several issues of Nutshell News magazine. After relocating to Florida, Elaine began customizing her clothing and purses with embroidered designs. Her expertise enabled her to sew, embroider, and donate blankets to premature babies at hospitals around the Largo area. She also co-authored a book about customer service with Alan in 2020 and taught English as a second language.
Elaine is survived by her children Alan Faingold, Alyce Kronon, Steven Faingold (Ellyn Saul); grandchildren Samantha (John) Felletter, Ben Faingold, Matthew Faingold; brother, Larry Kaplan and his children Jason Kaplan and Jenny Kaplan.
Elaine blessed many, many people with her kindness, advice, and generosity. From humble beginnings, she developed her knowledge through reading, lifelong learning and the drive to achieve success in all aspects of her life. Her motto was “the hard stuff we accomplish fairly quickly, the impossible takes a little longer.” Frank Sinatra was one of her favorite singers. Her favorite song captures her philosophy in life - My Way. Elaine lived her life – Her Way!
May her memory be a shared inspiration and everlasting blessing!
A celebration of Elaine’s life will be held on March 23, 2024, 12:30 PM at Serenity Gardens, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, Florida and will continue following the service at Pizza Shack Italian Grille, 11963 Indian Rocks Rd, Largo, Florida until 4 PM.
