Gareth Michael Swift

Beany (Gareth Michael Swift) died October 5th, 2017 after an extended battle with persistent ill health. He was in Largo, Florida with his family making plans for his professional life when he was admitted to hospital where he died.

Beany was born in London, England May 1977 and came to America when he was 2 years old. He grew up in Ohio and graduated from Hayes High School, Delaware, Ohio. In Lincoln he got his B.A. from Doane College and had Graduated from Wesleyan University Master’s degree program.

Beany’s immediate family include older sister Bryony and her daughter Chloe, younger sister Cubby and her husband Nick, younger brother Rory and his wife Jackie and parents Angela and Colin Swift. The whole Swift family called Lincoln home for more than 10 years for most of the 1990’s. Also a major part of Beany’s life were Becky Busboom and her girls Hannah and Kinsley whom he loved and cared for like family.

Beany lived in Lincoln for more than 20 years and held a variety of jobs from selling and servicing cars to working in various Sports Bars and restaurants throughout Lincoln.

Beany’s outgoing personality made him a natural friend for many people in and around Lincoln and he would want to say thank you to all of you for accepting him into your hearts. He will be sorely missed by all of us.
