George Peter Eells

George P Eells, 54, of Largo, FL, passed away on August 31, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Darby, PA October 19, 1968, to Louise (nee Conway) Eells. Adopted by Paul R Eells in 1979. George started his education in Sharon Hill, PA where he met his favorite teacher Ms. Linda Bird whom he was able to re-connect via Facebook and remained friends with all these years. He attended Northeast High School during his high school career he was on the wrestling team. At a young age George played football where he became the team captain.

George worked as a security officer while he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He also held a private investigators license. Ever the hard worker he never let his diabetes get in the way of his life. Diagnosed at age 4 he spent most of his adult life very sick and fighting the disease, but never used it as an excuse or asking why him. George loved sports following Penn State Wrestling, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the WWE.

George loved spending time with his devoted and loving wife Colleen, his wonderful daughter Ashley, his fantastic grandson Hunter, and last, but not least his parents. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Elizabeth (Eli), grandson Dimitri, and Cousin Eddie Paige. He is survived by his wife Colleen, daughter Ashley, grandson Hunter, parents Paul and Louise (nee Conway) Eells, Mother-in-Law Linda DeZwaan, brothers Michael Eells, Brian (Melissa) Eells, and Andrew(Christine) Eells, and aunt, uncle, cousins, and niece.

A visitation for George will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774. A memorial service will occur Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774. A reception will occur Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774.
