Dr. Helen Louise (Taylor) Dexter

2011 at 103 years of age. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, she practiced medicine there before

moving to Belleair with her family in 1955. Dr. Dexter was the first dermatologist in

Clearwater as well as the first female physician on Morton Plant Hospital Staff. She

served on the Belleair Commission for two terms and was a founder of the Girls Club of

Pinellas County. Dr. Dexter served as President of the Southeastern Dermatology

Association and was honored by the Retired Physicians of Morton Plant Hospital.

An avid swimmer, she swam forty five minutes a day come rain or shine until she was

95. Dr. Dexter was married to fellow physician, Dr. Morris Dexter for over fifty years.

The two traveled the world collecting bromeliads and orchids. She is survived by her

loving family. A son, William (Karla) Dexter of Barto, PA, two daughters, Helen (Robert)

Dalzell and Lissa Dexter of Belleair, FL along with four grandchildren, Jordan Dexter of

Barto, PA, Liz Dalzell of Clearwater, FL, Richard Potsubay of Seattle, WA and David

Potsubay of Las Vegas, NV, and loving caregiver and friend, Eartha Williams of Largo,

Fl. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be offered to the Suncoast Hospice,

SPCA of Tampa Bay or the charity of the donors choice. Funeral Services will be held

on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 1 pm at the Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 13401
