

Mr. Howard Berry of Indian Shores passed away April 15, 2017. Mr. Berry was born November 27, 1939 in Gadsden, AL. He is survived by Mrs. Joan Berry, his wife of 57 years; two brothers: John W. Berry of Irving, TX; Arnold Berry of Colorado Springs, CO; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, god-children, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Jewel Berry of Gadsden, AL and brothers: Lewis (Decatur, AL), Robert (Attalla, AL), and Gordon (Gadsden, AL).
Howard met his wife Joan while stationed at MacDill AFB and adopted Florida as his home. His passion in life was helping people. He loved magic tricks and puzzles of any kind but especially any involving math or complex logic. He was a dedicated and much appreciated math tutor to family, friends, and employees.
He held degrees in Mathematics and Business from the University of South Florida and a Master of Science in Information Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He was a member of MENSA, Pi Mu Epsilon math honorary, and Sigma Iota Epsilon management honor society.
Mr. Berry was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving at MacDill AFB, FL and Anderson AFB, Guam. He retired from Tampa Electric Company after a career of 32 years and continued as a consultant for another ten years.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2-4 PM Saturday, May 13th in the Fellowship Hall of Seffner Presbyterian Church, 1906 South Lenna Avenue, Seffner, Florida.
In lieu of flowers Mrs. Berry suggests donations to Metropolitan Ministries of Tampa or Shriners Children’s Hospital of Tampa.
