

Jacqueline (Jackie) Mooney, 87, a long-time resident of Largo, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023 at Bay Front Health, St. Petersburg. She was born at St. Augustine, Florida, the daughter of the late Chester and Marjorie (Arbour) Deagle and lived many years in Cambridge, Waltham, and Lawrence, Massachusetts.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Theodore (Ted) Mooney and a companion, Robert (Bob) Martinelli. She will be lovingly remembered and missed very much by her three sons, Gregory Bennet, Jeffrey Bennet, and Gordon Mooney and his wife Terri; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a niece, three nephews, and her sister, Deborah Bent.
For many years, Jackie was the office manager for Dr. Nathaniel Brackett, the medical examiner/local physician in Waltham, and later for her husband’s business in Lawrence. Her interests included ice dancing at the Skating Club of Boston, an activity she continued in Florida well into her 70’s, camping with her family in Bridgton, ME, baking incredibly delicious special occasion cakes, and enjoying traveling excursions with her sister to Hawaii, Europe, Australia, and the South Pacific.
Jackie’s family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the ICU nurses of Bay Front Health for their outstanding care in her final days.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 10895 Hamlin Boulevard, Largo on Tuesday, January 30th, 2024 at 11:00 am, and Jackie will be laid to rest with her husband, Ted, at Bay Pines National Cemetery on Wednesday, January 31st, 2024 at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jackie’s name can be made to Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Boulevard, Clearwater, FL 33760.
Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
