

Little, James LeRoy, 76 of Seminole died suddenly Sat Oct 22, 2016 at home. Born Oct 29, 1939 in Benton Harbor, Michigan, he was the son of James and Ruby Looney Little. James graduated from Benton Harbor, MI High School and St Leo College with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice-Summa Cum Laude. James worked as a Police Officer for Benton Harbor Police Dept. then with the Clearwater Police Dept. as Detective for over 28 years. He trained at Quantico for the Swat Team, Narcotics Team, Polygraph Examiner, Homicide, Burglary and Economic Crimes. After retirement he then worked as a Bailiff in the Sheriff’s Dept. with a total of 45 years of service. He is survived by his loving wife of 55years, Barbara Little of Seminole whom he married Sept. 24, 1961, two daughter’s Monica Plummer of Roswell, GA and Melissa Kavanagh (husband David) of Seminole, FL, four grandchildren, Thomas and Lauren Kavanagh and Alec and Jamie Plummer, sister’s Patricia Overhuel and Dorothy Rybarczyk (husband Joseph) of Stevensville, MI, two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Grams (husband James) of Benton Harbor, MI and Bonnie Moore of LaPort, IN. James is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Elks Club and the Fraternal Order of Police. He was also a member of the Anona United Methodist Church since 1973 where he was an usher for over 40 years. A funeral service will be 2 pm Tues, Nov. 1st at Anona United Methodist Church main sanctuary, 13233 Indian Rocks Rd. Largo, FL 33774. Viewing from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the church.
